Travel north through Namaqualand and head for the Gariep river. The night is spent around the campfire, getting to know each other.

Day 7

Choose between a relaxing morning on the riverbank or the half-day canoe adventure (optional activity). After lunch, leave for Fish River Canyon. We will reach Hobas before dark to set up camp and be at the Canyon for sunset. Say goodbye to tar roads for a while. The road between the campsite and canyon is in a very bad condition & the trucks are therefore forced to go slowly on this road.

BLD

Day 8

From the canyon we continue on into the remote Namibian hinterland. We arrive at camp in the afternoon and have time to go for a walk to the smaller Sesriem Canyon. This is an excellent night to sleep out under the stars, beside the fire.

BLD

Day 9

Taking advantage of the cooler temperatures, depart at dawn and drive into the Namib-Naukluft National Park where you will hike up Dune 45 to gain a different perspective of the desert. After this you have the option to hike with fellow group members into Sossusvlei.

BLD

Day 10

A dramatic drive through the arid Namib-Naukluft sees us arrive at Walvis Bay, then it's on to the seaside resort town of Swakopmund.

BL

Leave all the trappings of modern life behind, and drive inland to the mysterious Spitzkoppe, a sacred site of the San people. Take the opportunity to climb the boulders and rock formations and camp in the wild for the night.

BLD

Day 13

After some early morning exploration head inland again and drive north towards Outjo. Tomorrow you will meet the Himba, encountering a totally different way of life. This is a moving experience for many people.

An early rise sees you on your way to meet the local Himba people. After spending some time with them, head off to Etosha National Park and some of the most unique game viewing experiences in Africa.

BLD

Day 15

Spend the day visiting the abundant water holes for some excellent game photography.

BLD

Day 16

After an early morning game drive, set off towards Rundu on the Kavango River. In the evening enjoy a sunset cruise (optional).

Day 18

Leave the truck behind and enter the Delta using local transport to get to the camp, including mokoros (dugout canoes).
You cannot take your full backpack in to the Delta as there is limited packing space available - take only the essentials. Don't bother taking any soap - the Delta is a pristine environment and so you will not be allowed to use it!

BLD

Day 19

This morning is not a seriously early start. Get to the bush camp by lunchtime. The day is spent on the mokoros, with the afternoon relaxing at camp. Go for an afternoon nature walk.

BLD

Day 20

An early morning nature walk precedes breakfast, after which you will be transferred to the base camp, Delta Dawn, to shower and relax.

BLD

Day 21

The Delta is left behind as you pass through the Caprivi NP in Namibia, camping under the stars on the banks of the Zambezi River.

BLD

Day 21

The camp today is on the banks of the Chobe River. The afternoon is spent on an optional boat cruise into the renowned Chobe NP, an excellent opportunity for viewing some of the best African wildlife.

Day 23

Most people will spend the day White Water Rafting, a not-to-be-missed experience of a lifetime! Vic Falls offers many exciting alternatives.
